Origami Flower

3D-printed origami flower: a red tulip on a long stem against a black background

Origami Flower is a 3D-printable flower that you fold and assemble yourself: flat printed petals come together through subtle folds and clever interlocking into a single delicate sculpture. It is free to download on MakerWorld and looks best printed in silk filament.

What it is

3D printing meets the art of origami. Instead of printing a finished object, you print the separate elements and shape a mysterious flower from them, a process inspired by origami and puzzles. A minimal display base is included for easy presentation.

  • A design that reinterprets the concept of 3D printing.
  • A folding and assembling process inspired by origami and puzzles.
  • A surface texture that creates shimmering reflections when printed with silk filament.
  • A minimal display base, included.

What it is for

  • Display: a sculpture for a shelf or a desk.
  • Gifts: a handmade present for someone special, for Valentine’s Day or any day.
  • A slow, hands-on project: assembling it is part of the pleasure.

Assembly

  1. Gently fold the petals, keeping the textured surface on the outside.
  2. Insert the two small holes at the base of each petal into the corresponding slots on the stem.
  3. Slide the petal down until it locks in place; apply slight pressure if needed.
  4. Start with the two smaller petals and arrange them in offset pairs.
  5. Place the finished flower wherever you like, using the included base for stability.
